The tiny Bank of Sulfur Springs opened in 1921 during a time when the community was thriving. Sulfur Springs was a popular tourist destination and a favorite of locals as well who were entertained by a large hotel, arcade, and especially the Sulphur Springs pool.
The bank was open for 12 years before It collapsed during the Great Depression. In 1933 the Exchange Bank- through the bank’s voluntary liquidation as a result of a stockholder vote- took over the assets to facilitate the prompt payment of funds and assure customers their deposits were safe. In 2018 Morrisound Recording, a long-standing premier recording studio in Tampa, repurposed the building into a state-of-the-art facility.
