The ship chandlery business of C.W. Green was incorporated in 1909 on Water Street (now Channelside Drive). A shipchandler is a person or business that specializes in supplying equipment for ships and shipbuilding. By the early 1920s, the company had occupied this building at 502 Tampa Street, added auto supply to its marine hardware business, and became the wholesale distributor for Caspar Motor Oil for the State of Florida. They moved, and by the late 1920s, this building housed the Tampa-Holtsinger Furniture store.   By the 1930s, Warren-Henderson Realty's offices took up residence; by the mid-1940s, Sherwin Williams Paints sold here.

In 2009, the Samaria Café began serving its American Diner food on the first floor and remains there today. Next door, L’Eden French Café & Bar opened in 2007 and is now Chez Faby. They offer indoor and sidewalk dining.  Stichter, Riedel, Blain & Postler, P.A. was founded in 1974 and occupies the offices on the top two floors.
