The Glidden Paint Company opened its first store on Florida Avenue in the 1930s. In the 1950s, they opened the Glidden Drive-In Paint Center at 3120 Grand Central Ave. (now Kennedy Boulevard), which became known as Glidden Paint and Wallcoverings by the 1980s, with four different locations.
By 1985, Glidden closed here, and Arvey Paper and Supplies Company opened in 1986 and transitioned to Xpedx Paper and Graphics by 2005. Nadeau Furniture opened here in 2016, and moved out in 2021. In 2024, Florida Tools Tampa Bay moved in.
