The original Goody-Goody opened at 1603 Grand Central Ave. (now Kennedy Boulevard) in 1925. In 1927, it was moved to 1629 Grand Central, pictured here, to accommodate more room for car stalls. The store at 1119 North Florida Ave., which some mistake as the original, was opened in 1930. In October 1933, this original location on Grand Central was closed.

In the Mid-1950s, Clayton’s Sporting Goods Company set up shop here, and in the early 2000s, a Walmart Neighborhood Center sprung up on the block with Wendy’s Hamburgers, Kentucky fried chicken, and Pizza Hut taking the frontage lots.
