This building in the 500 block of Tampa St. was owned by Col. Wallace Fisher Stovall, owner and publisher of the Tampa Tribune until 1925. As a matter of fact, he owned all three buildings from the center to the right of this photo in 1923. This building housed their printing presses daily operations, and they distributed from here as well. The truck in front of the building was used for delivery. Two years after this photo was taken, Stovall sold the paper in what could only be described as a mistaken and poorly judged deal.
After the paper moved out to another Stovall building, this structure housed different businesses, including the Rose Garden Café and eventually Tampa Art Supply, whose owner played an instrumental role in salvaging the Burgert collection from ruin. It was recently purchased, and the new owners demolished it to make way for the 55-story One Tampa mixed-use tower
