Greens Fuel, Inc. had several distribution points throughout Central Florida. Ernest L Aman’s store sold the fuel and the appliances that used it. Installing one of Green’s fuel tanks, boasting uninterrupted service, was a departure from the 1940s monopolistic presence of Tampa Electric Company. Green’s liquid petroleum gas tanks were buried underground and claimed to be “stormproof” compared to the often-interrupted electrical supply. Aman’s business also offered plumbing services.

The Metropolitan Ministries Thrift Store sells affordable clothing, furniture, and appliances, using the proceeds to support families graduating from the Metropolitan Ministries transitional housing program to a house of their own. In 2020, Metropolitan Ministries served nearly 3 million meals and provided other services to disadvantaged families and homeless residents.
