The Bay View Hotel wisely opened its own storage garage next door to offer parking and service to guests. By the time this photo was taken in 1947, cars had dominated tourism travel, and services from lubricants to auto repairs and storage made staying at the hotel much more convenient.
The structure was imploded in 1980 along with the hotel to make way for today's 5-story Fifth Third parking structure.
