St Andrews Episcopal Church started as a mission in Tampa in 1871 and was strongly associated with Fort Brooke, a military outpost in the area. In 1877, the lot the church owned at Morgan and Twiggs Streets was valued at $140. It’s where their first wooden church with a tall bell tower was built. The cornerstone of the current Mediterranean Revival-style building was set in 1904. The mission became a parish in 1907.

St. Andrews continues its mission as a city church, a parish school, and a place of worship for a diverse group of parishioners.
